2. Review Tentative Educational Facilities Plan

Minutes: 

Jim Connell, Director of Facility Planning and Construction, reviewed the high points of the Educational Facilities Plan which is prepared annually prior to the adoption of the annual budget.   The Plan must be financially feasible.  The Facilities Work Progam, which is the last section in the Plan, was developed under a new format this year.  The School Board will be asked to approve the Educational Facilities Plan at the September 6, 2007 meeting.  The approved Plan will then be submitted to all affected municipalities to be reviewed for consistency with its Comprehensive Plan.

4. Maintenance and Indemnification Agreement with the Board of County Commissioners for Walkpaths to Coppergate Elementary

Minutes: This Agreement will provide two additional walkpaths to Coppergate Elementary School, for a total of four access points.  These walkpaths to the school property will help keep students off County Road 220 and County Road 209.

13. New School Dedications

Minutes: 

Considering the lack of attendance at the last several new school dedications, Superintendent Owens questioned whether it was practical to continue holding them.  Staff will look into using a different approach, perhaps a ribbon cutting ceremony held on the day of Orientation.

14. Special Board Meeting

Minutes: Superintendent Owens informed the Board of the need for a special meeting to appoint new out-of-field teachers prior to the close of the FTE Survey Week (October 8-12).  The meeting was scheduled for Thursday, October 11, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. in the Superintendent's conference room.
